Britain s biggest banks are on the comeback trail, as the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on their balance sheets appear less than severe than originally feared.
In their recent round of results, far from reporting spiralling losses on soured loans to business and households, Britain s big four banks either released money that had been set aside to cover coronavirus-related costs or reported a smaller-than-expected hit.
As a result, profits rose in the first three months of this year - hugely in some cases -and share prices rallied.
Many investors, however, still question the wisdom of investing in the UK s banking behemoths, Lloyds, NatWest, Barclays and HSBC. Are they missing out on a bargain share opportunity or wisely staying away?

Bruce Cassidy expects to hear from the Bruins’ medical staff a fair amount in the next few days as he sets his team’s lineup for their final two home games.
He expects to get long-injured Ondrej Kasé back in the lineup Monday vs. the New York Islanders. Cassidy wanted to hear from the medical staff before determining the next step after that. Kasé has been out since the second game of the season with a concussion.
Suspected hand grenade destroyed in controlled explosion

A suspected hand grenade has been destroyed by a bomb disposal team.
The device was discovered by builders during groundworks for a house extension, with neighbours living nearby evacuated after police were called.
A loud bang could be heard as the device was destroyed in a controlled explosion.

“We had a knock on the door about 6pm,” she told Bristol24/7.
“[We] had to evacuate whilst they waited for bomb logistics to arrive. They took our number and we had a call at 8.30pm to say it had all been dealt with and we could return home. All quite dramatic, but everyone safe.”

The 2020-21 New York Rangers season has officially come to a close with 5-4 victory over the Boston Bruins. The Blueshirts end the season with a record of 27-23-6, and head into one of the most important offseasons in franchise history.
It is fitting in a sense that the final game of the season saw the kids get involved as much as they did offensively, as 2020-21 was the year of the kids.
K’Andre Miller got things started with his fifth goal of the season, and Justin Richards picked up his first career NHL assist and point in his NHL debut. Filip Chytil, an older kid, picked up the secondary assist.
