Tigard police said in a statement that officers responded to a report of domestic disturbance at an apartment at Southwest Hall Boulevard and Bonita Road. Officers say they tried to arrest Macduff for domestic violence. Macduff was inside his vehicle, and officers said he had a knife. Police said they tried to take him into custody, and he refused to surrender. Tigard police shot and killed Macduff during the struggle to arrest him, according to Tigard police. The shooting happened around 5:50 p.m., nearly two hours after police said they arrived to the apartment.
