Dr. Maria Macduff said she wants to know what led to the police shooting her son, Jacob Macduff
The mother of a man shot and killed by Tigard police officers in January is still seeking answers about what happened, and says she believes her son was entering a psychotic episode when he was shot by police.
Jacob Ryan Macduff was shot and killed by Officer Gabriel Maldonado on Jan. 6, after Tigard police say officers confronted him in his truck. Police said Macduff refused to surrender and was carrying a knife.
Four months after Macduff died at the Tigard apartment complex where he lived, the family is still awaiting details of the man s death, Macduff s mother, Dr. Maria Macduff, and her attorney, Scott Levin, told reporters Monday, May 17.

Fatal shooting spurs protest at Portland cop s Tigard home May 16 2021
Protesters gathered near Tigard High School and marched to a nearby house where they believe Portland Police Bureau officer Zach DeLong lives.
Squad cars nearly outnumbered demonstrators during a rally outside what activists say is the Tigard home of a Portland cop who fatally shot a homeless man last month.
Portland Police Bureau Officer Zachary DeLong remains on paid administrative leave after he shot and killed Robert Delgado in Lents Park on April 16. A month later, on Sunday, May 16, a crowd of less than a dozen chanted a murderer lives here to passing traffic on Southwest Durham Road across the street from Tigard High School.

A man was shot and killed in what police described as a “domestic disturbance” in Tigard early Friday morning.
Officers responded to a call in the 15000 block of Southwest 79th Avenue around 12:45 a.m., police said in a statement.
Investigators found a man inside a home dead of a gunshot wound.
“Tigard Police detectives are investigating this shooting, and the Washington County District Attorney’s Office will be reviewing the case. There is no threat to the public,” police said in a statement. “At this time, no charges have been filed and the names of those involved are not being released.”
In a letter to Michael Slauson, chief counsel for the criminal division of the Department of Justice, the DA said he believes an “independent evaluation” of the investigation of the fatal shooting of Jacob Macduff is necessary “given the concerns I have developed regarding the incident.”
