On Tuesday, Audubon County Sheriff, Todd Johnson, released details of arrests for the second half of December, 2020. According to his report, two individuals remain in custody. A Council Bluffs man, 59-year-old Larry Duane Phipps, was arrested on Dec. 14 on outstanding warrants for third-offense possession of marijuana and second-offense possession of methamphetamine. While being booked into the Audubon County jail, authorities found methamphetamine on his person. An additional third-offense charge was added and he is being held on a $15,000 bond. On Dec. 31, 27-year-old Jacob Patrick Sweeney of Audubon was taken into custody, also on outstanding warrants, these for parole violations. Following his arrest, additional charges of interference with official acts and possession of drug paraphernalia were added. Sweeney is being held without bond at the Audubon County jail.
