2 sentenced to death for raping, killing 11-year-old in Shariatpur Photo: Star Star Online Report Star Online Report A Shariatpur court today sentenced two people to death for raping and killing an 11-year-old on July 2017 in Sakhipur area. The convicts are Md Farid Sheikh, 42, and Md Jakir Sheikh, 34, of Sardar Kandi village in Sakhipur thana, reports our local correspondent quoting court sources. Judge Abdus Salam Khan of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal in Shariatpur announced the judgment in presence of the accused, Firoz Ahmed, special public prosecutor of the tribunal, told The Daily Star. The judge said the prosecution was able to prove the charges brought against the accused without any doubt, so they [accused] deserved the highest punishment for their heinous offences .
