Advertisement The focus of “The Roads Most Traveled,” directed by Palomar College’s Bill Wisneski, is Bartletti’s visual documentation of the migration of Central Americans to the U.S. This includes a harrowing and heartbreaking experience riding atop freight cars bound for El Norte with his camera and little else, “an assignment,” Bartletti says in the film, “that change

Four victims of gay conversion therapy bravely tell of their experiences

Seeing her reflection in the bathroom mirror, Jayne Ozanne recoiled in horror.  It was as if she had staggered from a car wreck: her cheeks were ashen, the skin around her eyes horribly red where blood vessels had burst. But Jayne hadn t survived a terrible crash, she d merely emerged from a therapy session. Yet while her appointment had taken place in a cosy sitting room, it was a far from gentle experience.  Because for five hours, Jayne a Cambridge graduate with a highflying business career had been writhing and retching as her therapist , a respected faith leader, urged her to literally vomit out her problem .

Only connect: Yearning for the intimacy of a danced, onstage world The New York City Ballet dancer Russell Janzen near his home in New York, April 28, 2021. Janzen misses the physical and emotional closeness forged onstage, which are lost on Zoom and in socially distanced dancing. Jingyu Lin/The New York Times. by Russell Janzen (NYT NEWS SERVICE) .- When the music begins, we start to dance. It’s early April, and for the first time in 13 months I’m rehearsing with a partner in the New York City Ballet studios. Ashley Bouder and I bump into each other as we dance side by side. After more than a year of dancing on our own we’re not used to this sort of closeness.
