But if you re feeling nostalgic, there are also two more familiar titles though they are polar opposites in terms of content (witches versus Jesus). Here are six local shows to watch this month:
Teatro Dallas, May 7 Christian Cruz s site-specific performance is inspired by Mexican Consul Francisco de la Torre’s quote, “We will build bridges, not walls.” Featuring her “Grito de Orgullo Choir,” Cruz will create a modern day ceremony to celebrate one another. The performance takes place in the parking lot of the Mexican Consulate (1210 River Bend Dr. in Dallas).

GHOSTS IN THE KITCHEN is a Series of Storytelling through Virtual Theater as written and told by core company members Carla Parker, Justin Locklear, Kevin Grammer and Matthew Posey, filmed and directed by Josh David Jordan with music by Sarah Rubio- Rogerson and Justin Locklear.
GHOSTS IN THE KITCHEN is stories of hauntings found in the realm of wandering souls who attempt to understand the complexities of life and to remember what it is like to be human. This is a series of FOUR Virtual Theater Events that we are releasing one at a time. Once all four are released, we will combine all four projects together to create the all-encompassing event of Ghosts In The Kitchen .

Undermain Theatre to stream ambitious season of shows from its legendary Deep Ellum basement
The seven productions include a modern classic and the regional premiere of a play about Dallas bluesman Blind Lemon Jefferson. Lonesome Blues co-writer Akin Babatundé starred as musician Blind Lemon Jefferson in the 2018 off-Broadway premiere of his and Alan Govenar s play about the Deep Ellum bluesman. Undermain Theatre is mounting a new production, with a new cast, as part of its 2021 virtual spring season.(Katherine Owens)
