JNPT receives 80 MT of liquid medical oxygen from United Arab Emirates
Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), Indiaâs premier container port successfully executed the handling of four containers carrying 80 metric tonnes medical oxygen in cryogenic state in the vessel MV. GSF GISELLE of AXS service. Due to the current pandemic situation in the country, the medical oxygen containers were sent by United Arab Emirates.
MV. GSF GISELLE, carrying the containers reached JNPT, after departing from Jebel Ali, on the southern outskirts of Dubai on May 05, 2021. The liquid medical oxygen containers will be transported to various destinations decided by the Government and will be used to overcome current pandemic situation in the country. JNPT extended all its resources for berthing of the vessel and handling the oxygen containers free of cost as per the directives of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways.

FY21 net profit jumps 33% to ₹5,049 crore
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) said its net profit for the January to March quarter soared 288 per cent to ₹1,320.69 crore from ₹340.21 crore a year ago.
The company’s operating revenue during the fourth quarter jumped 24 per cent to ₹3,607.90 crore from ₹2,921.19 crore a year earlier.
For the full year, India’s biggest private port operator reported a net profit of ₹5,048.74 crore, an increase of 33 per cent on ₹3,784.53 crore in FY20, the company said in a regulatory filing. The full year operating revenue rose 6 per cent to ₹12,549.60 crore from ₹11,873.07 crore a year earlier.
LPG, oil operations at Indian ports normal amid COVID-19 measures
Indian ports have introduced precautionary measures to control the escalating COVID-19 pandemic, but these have not disrupted loading and discharge operations of LPG and other oil product shipments, trade and ship broking sources said.
“There has been no berthing restrictions as of now at any LPG port due to COVID-19,” one importer said.
The measures include night lockdowns at ports such as Kandla, lockdowns by the Mundra local municipality, strict lockdown imposed until May 1 in Mumbai and JNPT, night curfew in Goa until end-April, night curfew in Mangalore, night curfew in Tamil Nadu state, night curfew in Visakhapatnam, night curfew in some districts in Kakinada, night curfew and lockdown in Paradip, and night curfew in Krishnapattanam, shipping sources said.

While in Kandla, technicians or crew change is permitted, COVID-19 test reports must be received within a minimum of up to 35-48 hours from the time samples are received at the lab.
