SRINAGAR/ JAMMU, Jan 24: Barring Gulmarg and Pahalgam, the minimum temperature improved across Kashmir today with the mercury settling above normal for this time of the year for the second night in a row in Srinagar, air traffic resumed at Srinagar and the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was restored in the afternoon.
Official sources said that air- traffic resumed at Srinagar Airport with morning flights getting delayed. However, traffic was normal in the afternoon.
The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was restored this afternoon while two persons hailing from Kupwara in Kashmir were found dead in a stranded vehicle near Banihal during the day.

Many parts of Kashmir, including Srinagar, received fresh snowfall on Saturday, the third time this month. Due to continuous snowfall since Saturday morning, all flights to and from the Srinagar international airport have been cancelled.
As predicted by the local weather office, it started snowing in the Kashmir valley on Saturday morning.
After opening for a few hours on Saturday, the Jammu-Srinagar national highway has also been closed again due to heavy snowfall. The highway which was opened for one-way traffic from Jammu to Srinagar on Saturday has been closed due to snowfall near Jawahar Tunnel.

The Srinagar-Jammu national highway, which runs through south Kashmir’s Qazigund area, was also closed for traffic. A fresh spell of snowfall on Saturday cut off Kashmir valley from the rest of the country, as both air and surface traffic were affected.
An official said that Kashmir-bound flights were cancelled because the runway of the Srinagar airport was not feasible for landing as well as take-off due to snow accumulation.
