KUALA LUMPUR: The shooting incident at a restaurant in Taman Tun Dr Ismail here on Sunday (Jan 31) may have been caused by someone who was cleaning his weapon.
Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Anuar Omar said police did not rule out the possibility that the victim was hit by a stray bullet and that he was not an intentional target. We are still investigating the incident. Initial investigations showed the victim had no enemies, nor did he owe any debts. So we are not ruling out that the shot might have come from more than 500m away from the restaurant when the weapon was being cleaned, he said when met at the site in Jalan Aminuddin Baki on Tuesday (Feb 2).

An elderly man at a restaurant in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (TTDI), Kuala Lumpur sustained minor injuries after being hit by a bullet on Sunday (31 Jan).
According to a statement by Brickfields District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Anuar Omar, while cleaning the restaurant kitchen located at Jalan Aminuddin Baki, TTDI, the elderly man felt sudden pain around his armpit area and noticed he was injured there.

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 1 An elderly man sustained injuries after being shot at a restaurant in Jalan Aminuddin Baki, Taman Tun Dr Ismail yesterday.
Brickfields district police chief ACP Anuar Omar said the police received a report from the victim about the incident at around noon today.
“During the incident yesterday, the victim was cleaning the restaurant kitchen at around 12.30pm when he felt a sharp pain at his armpit and found a wound at the area.
Many streets in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) bear the name “Rahim Kajai”, including Jalan Rahim Kajai and Lorong Rahim Kajai 1 to Lorong Rahim Kajai 14. There is also a Padang Rahim Kajai.
This part of TTDI is situated on the northwestern side of the township. Located next to the Aminuddin Baki area, it consists of mostly landed houses, with some shoplots on Lorong Rahim Kajai 13 and Lorong Rahim Kajai 14.
“Rahim Kajai” refers to the late, renowned journalist and writer Abdul Rahim Haji Salim (1894 to 1943), who used the pen name Abdul Rahim Kajai when he started writing for the
Idaran Zaman weekly in 1925. Kajai is the village in West Sumatra, Indonesia, where his parents came from.
