The lawyers submitted a memorandum enumerating their demands for urgent redressal by the chief justice. The lawyers apprised the chief justice on the practical difficulties of virtual hearings in place of physical hearings while observing the SoPs in all courts. Northlines Class Xth exams cancelled in Jammu Div Jammu Tawi, Apr 15: The government on Thursday cancelled the ongoing board examinations of 10th standard of Jammu region following the spike in COVID-19 cases across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Announcement in this regard was made through the official twitter handle of the Office of Lieutenant Government Jammu and Kashmir. “In view of rising cases of COVID-19, Class X ongoing exams for remaining subjects has been cancelled and their promotion to class XI will be decided on the basis of their performance in subjects already undertaken in present exam and internal assessment,” Office of LG J&K tweeted.

Northlines Darbar Move deferred for COVID Surge in J&K Jammu Tawi, Apr 15: In a bid to ensure safety of employees amid spike in COVID-19 cases, the Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday announced the deferment of annual “Darbar Move” of offices from Jammu to Srinagar for the summer session. However, the government stated that the functioning of the offices will not get affected as files will be moved electronically between both Secretariats in e-Office. Pertinently, the General Administration Department (GAD) had informed that the move offices observing 5-day week and 6-day week will close at Jammu on 30th April 2021 and 1st May 2021, respectively. All the offices will reopen in the summer capital city of Srinagar on 10th May 2021.

Schools, coaching centres across J&K shut till April 30

Northlines Schools, coaching centres across J&K shut till April 30 Jammu Tawi, Apr 15: The government on Thursday ordered closure of all private coaching institutes and extended closure of all schools for physical academics till April 30 across Jammu and Kashmir. State Executive Committee (SEC) has said that the Schools in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir shall continue to remain closed for imparting on-campus or in-person education to the students of all classes till April 30. Besides schools, the government said that all the coaching and tuition centers imparting in-person teaching to students shall also remain closed in the entire UT till April 30.
