Jammu Tawi, Apr 20: At a time when Lieutenant Governor administration of Jammu and Kashmir have ordered 50 per cent opening of markets besides laying out a number of new SOPs amid surge in Corona virus cases, Jammu’s Chamber of Commerce has rolled out a new market timing in order to assist administration in the fight against COVID19.
President of Jammu Chamber of Commerce, Arun Gupta said that after meeting with traders’ bodies of various areas of Jammu city, it has been decided that all kinds of business establishments will remain closed on Sunday.

Wine traders defied Covid-19 restrictions in Jammu on Tuesday to stage a massive protest against the Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and financial commissioner Arun Mehta.
The traders were demanding the rollback of the new excise policy which they alleged was “against the interests of people of Jammu and Kashmir especially local wine traders, who are in business for the past so many decades”.

JAMMU, Apr 10: Reacting strongly to the new Excise Policy, the JCCI president Arun Gupta today asserted that the new policy prima-facie appears to be aimed at eliminating the local business persons from the trade and benefiting only the rich capitalists, that too, from outside the Union Territory of J&K.
Addressing press conference here today, JCCI president said that it is quite unfortunate that before finalizing the Excise Policy 2021-22, the apprehensions of the wine traders have not been cleared despite repeated protests by them in Jammu.
Gupta regretted that despite taking up the matter with the Lt Governor regarding New Excise Policy which is directly affecting the livelihood of existing wine traders of J&K, unfortunately nothing has been done in this regard.

SRINAGAR: New interventions will change the way the real estate sector would work in Jammu and Kashmir. Since the 2020 fall, the government has issued a series of orders that change the traditional processes and systems.
Property Order 1
A recent order issued by the Housing and Urban Development Department has mandated the concerned Municipal Corporations, Councils or Committees to levy property tax on the properties in Jammu and Kashmir.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by the Jammu and Kashmir Property Tax Board Act, 2013, the Jammu and Kashmir Municipal Act, 2000 and the Municipal Corporation Act 2000, the government hereby direct that for the levy of property tax on any land or building as notified in terms of Jammu and Kashmir Preparation and Revision of Market Value Guideline Rules 2011 (circle rate),” the order reads.
