The Japanese government has made available a scholarship grant of Y329 million (approx. P143 million) for 22 young officials from various Philippine government institutions who wish to pursue post-graduate studies in Japan beginning the academic year 2022.

Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Koshikawa Kazuhiko made this announcement shortly after the virtual signing and exchanging of notes on the grant known as the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. represented the Philippines in the ceremony.
