A new era partnership to boost agriculture development focusing on strengthening food production for food security has materialized between the Ministry of Agriculture (MAL) and the Correctional Services of Solomon Islands (CSSI).

has materialized between the Ministry of Agriculture (MAL)
and the Correctional Services of Solomon Islands
(CSSI).
The new partnership was acknowledged during a
handing over ceremony of seeds and basic farming tools and
materials by MAL to CSSI Tetere Correctional Centre (TCC) in
Guadalcanal Province on 15th April.
“This occasion
(handing over) heralds a new era in a partnership between
MAL and CSSI in agriculture development, more specifically
in food production for food security and as an opportunity
in giving the CSSI inmates opportunity to learn farming

Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare has paid his final respects to the late Sir Paul Tovua.
The Prime Minister and his wife Madam Sogavare paid their final respects as the body of the late Sir Paul Tovua Lay-in-State at the National Parliament Chambers.
Prime Minister Sogavare and Madam Sogavare also attended the funeral service at the Holy Cross Cathedral.
The Prime Minister, in his condolence message, conveyed on behalf of the Democratic Coalition Government for Advancement (DCGA) and the people of Solomon Islands, his deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the wife, children and members of the immediate family, relatives, friends, and colleagues on the passing of the late Sir Paul Tovua.
