Signs of recovery in
Australia’s domestic air travel market demonstrate a hunger among passengers to take back to the sky, according to the
International Air Transport Association (
IATA).
Domestic traffic in Australia was down 60.5% in February, compared to the same month in 2019, but the figures show a marked improvement on January which was down 77.3% compared to 2019.
The slight improvement was due to a slight easing of some border restrictions at the start of February and IATA believes that this demonstrates a willingness to travel among the population.
