Apple is reported to launch two new iPad Pro models sometime this month. The company is expected to integrate a mini-LED screen, Apple s newest bet in displays, on at least one iPad Pro model, presumably the more premium one. This falls in line with TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo s prediction of Apple launching a new iPad with a mini-LED display sometime in H1 2021. The report says that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro will shift to the mini-LED display that is said to offer better contrast ratio and saturation.
The iPad Pro line refresh has been making headlines in recent months as it is one of the expected products Apple could launch this month. Some of the expected upgrades include the adoption of mini-LED displays, 5G support, and a new CPU.
iPad Pro 2021 specs: What to expect
Rumors about the A14X Bionic chip have been around since late 2020. While Apple has yet to confirm the new chipset, the iPad Pro is due for an upgrade in this department, especially considering that the latest iPad Air came out last September powered with the 5nm A14 chip.
Benchmark results for an “A14X” chip appeared online last November, suggesting it could bring in a processing speed between 1.80 GHz to 3.10 GHz. Note, however, that these numbers are not verified yet, but the next iPad Pro tablets are likely to sport a variant of the A14 processors that have been released on the latest iPad Air and iPhone 12 series.
Display Maker BOE Unveils 360-Degree Folding Screen

Chinese display maker BOE has unveiled the world’s first flexible display that folds up to 360 degrees.
According to GizmoChina, BOE is said to adopt a “multi-neutral layer model design” for its new display and multi-mode foldable phone approach. This effectively reduces the stress of flexible outward and inward foldings, as well as reduces the possibility of causing creases from each fold.
The report added that the company claims the display is able to last approximately 200,000 folds throughout its use.
Currently, BOE has reportedly achieved mass production of R5 200,000-fold outward-folding displays and R3 200,000-fold in-folding displays, and supplies to domestic first-tier smartphone manufacturers.
