Former BtoB boyband member Ilhoon (real name Jung Il-hoon) was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 133 million won ($158,000) on Thursday (June 10) for purchasing and using marijuana. Seoul Central District Court senior judge Yang Cheol-han presided over the sentencing. According to Korean entertainment website Koreaboo, Yang also deemed it necessary to arrest 26-year-old Ilhoon in court.

Jung Il-hoon, former member of K-pop boy band BTOB, was sentenced by a local court Thursday to two years in prison for habitually smoking marijuana, a banned substance in South Korea.
The 27-year-old Jung was indicted without detention in April on charges of smoking marijuana worth 133 million won (US$119,300) that he had bought from an acquaintance on 161 occasions between July 2016 and January 2019.
The Seoul Central District Court also ordered Jung to forfeit 133 million won for violating the Narcotics Control Act and be taken into custody immediately.
Jung Ilhoon has received a prison sentence for purchasing and using marijuana.
On June 10, Jung Il Hoon’s sentencing hearing was held at the Seoul Central District Court. He was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 133 million won (approximately $119,200) for violating the Act on the Control of Narcotics, Etc., and he was taken under custody.
Jung Ilhoon was brought to trial for suspicions of purchasing and smoking 826 grams (approximately 1.8 pounds) of marijuana using approximately 130 million won (approximately $116,500) across 161 instances between July 5, 2016 and January 9, 2019 together with seven other defendants. Depending on the number of instances they smoked marijuana, the seven other defendants received varied sentences between one year and six months through two years or a suspended sentence.
