Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) today pressed charges against 24 leaders and activists of Chattogram city Awami League and its student body Bangladesh Chhatra League in a case filed over the murder of BCL leader Sudipto Biswas in the port city on October 6, 2017.
Inspector Sontosh Kumar Chakma, investigation officer, confirmed the matter today. Sontosh submitted the charge-sheet to the prosecution section of the court last month. After analysing the relevant CCTV footage, and the accused who gave confessional statement under Section 164 and other circumstantial evidence, police pressed the charge-sheet in the case against 24 persons, the inspector told The Daily Star.
