15 years jail and caning for man who sexually abused four-year-old daughter

SINGAPORE - A 33-year-old man who showed pornographic videos to his four-year-old biological daughter before he sexually assaulted her was sentenced to 15 years jail and 15 strokes of the cane on Monday (March 8). The man, who was estranged from the victim s mother at the time, had committed the sexual offences when the girl was staying with him on weekends between March and May 2015, the High Court heard. He pleaded guilty to one charge of sexual assault by penetration and one charge of outrage of modesty. Five other charges, including three for showing obscene objects to a young person, were taken into consideration.

Ex-Republic Poly student admits insulting female student s modesty on campus

SINGAPORE - A former Republic Polytechnic (RP) student admitted in a district court on Monday (Feb 8) that he had followed a 17-year-old female student into a toilet at the school in 2019 with the intention of insulting her modesty. He was caught when he aimed a mobile phone at the student, who was in an adjacent cubicle. He had done a similar thing a year earlier, at Keat Hong Community Club in Choa Chu Kang. On Monday, the Singaporean offender pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal trespass and one count of insulting a woman s modesty. He cannot be named as he was 17 years old when he first committed the offences in 2018. The Children and Young Persons Act covers individuals below 18 years old.
