Woman killed in Swat attack - Newspaper

SWAT: Unidentified persons barged into a house in the wee hours on Friday and axed a woman to death and critically injured another in Panja Khan area of Mingora. Mingora police SHO Akhtar Ayub said some unidentified persons broke into a house near the Mingora city and axed a woman to death, and left another woman, who was a guest in the house, severely injured. He said the injured woman was shifted to the Saidu Sharif Teaching Hospital. The father of the deceased woman lodged FIR against unidentified persons in Mingora police station. The police have started investigation into the incident.

Meeting reviews progress on uplift projects in Swat Peshawar May 8, 2021 MINGORA: A meeting chaired by Commissioner Malakand Division Zaheer-ul-Islam on Friday reviewed progress on various development projects in Swat district. Special Secretary to Chief Minister Muhammad Khaliq, DIG Malakand Division Abdul Ghafoor Afridi, Deputy Commissioner Swat Junaid Khan, heads and representatives of district departments attended the meeting. The meeting discussed police reforms, agricultural development, health and education for all, ease of transportation through road linkages, clean water supply, sports facilities, establishment of rescue services and judicial complex, and electricity and gas projects. The meeting was informed that 92 schemes have been completed under the special package for the areas affected by terrorism while 65 projects have been completed to uplift of underdeveloped areas of the district.
