As the discord in opposition alliance intensified, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) President Maulana Fazlur Rehman summoned a meeting of constituent parties today (Tuesday).
Sources privy to the development told
The Express Tribune that the meeting will take place at the residence of the JUI-F chief in Islamabad.
Interestingly, the PDM chief has not invited two major opposition parties ANP and PPP to the meeting which have been at loggerheads with their allies over the matter of Senate opposition leader.

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday filed an intra-court appeal challenging the dismissal of a petition against the rejection of his seven votes in the election to the office of Senate chairman.
Mr Gilani filed the appeal in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the judgement of its single-judge bench.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah had on March 24 dismissed Mr Gilani’s petition, saying the petitioner with the support of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) could remove Sadiq Sanjrani through a no-confidence motion.

ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani on Thursday constituted a seven-member committee to investigate the incident involving installation of spy cameras inside the Senate hall and the polling booth that had been set up for elections of the chairman and the deputy chairman last month.
According to the Senate Secretariat’s notification, the committee titled “Senate Investigation Committee” is required to present its report “within one month from the date of the notification”.
