An in-camera session of the parliament was held Thursday wherein Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Director General Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed briefed the political leadership on external and internal security issues and regional challenges, with special focus on Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Afghanistan.
Chaired by National Assembly Security Committee Chairman and Speaker Asad Qaiser, the briefing was attended by parliamentary leadership, members of the National Assembly as well as senators, said a press release issued here. ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday admitted an intra-court appeal of former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani challenging the dismissal of his petition against rejection of seven votes cast in his favour in the election of Senate chairman.
Mr Gilani filed the appeal in the Islamabad High Court against the judgement of a single-member IHC bench, through his counsel Farooq H. Naek and Javed Wains.
An IHC division bench comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri took up the appeal.

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday filed an intra-court appeal challenging the dismissal of a petition against the rejection of his seven votes in the election to the office of Senate chairman.
Mr Gilani filed the appeal in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the judgement of its single-judge bench.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah had on March 24 dismissed Mr Gilani’s petition, saying the petitioner with the support of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) could remove Sadiq Sanjrani through a no-confidence motion.
