MDOT inspection of lift bridge on U.S 31 will impact boat, vehicle traffic Updated 12:56 PM; Today 12:56 PM The work will take place at the bridge on U.S. 31 (Cypress Street) in Manistee May 3-7.Michigan Department of Transportation Facebook Share MANISTEE, MI – A well-traveled lift bridge in Manistee will be down a lane next week as crews from the Michigan Department of Transportation complete a detailed inspection. The work, which will require a single-lane closure and a traffic shift, with one lane open in each direction, will take place at the bridge on U.S. 31 (Cypress Street) May 3-7. The work will also require an adjustment from boats traveling on the Manistee River. From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, the bridge will open for marine traffic with 15 minutes of advance notice on Monday and Friday, and with three hours of advance notice Tuesday through Thursday.

Northwest Florida Daily News/USA TODAY NETWORK FORT WALTON BEACH  A home  in the 200 block of Cypress Street in Sylvania Heights was severely damaged in a fire early Saturday morning, according to a Facebook post by the Ocean City-Wright Fire Control District. The fire was extinguished quickly and there were no injuries. However the home s three occupants were displaced. The cause of the fire was accidental, according to the post.
