New Delhi [India], February 2 (ANI): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday expressed his happiness at the budget proposal to open 100 new Sainik Schools in the country and said several new programmes to support India s farmers, agriculture, infrastructure and reinvigoration of human resources have also been announced.
The minister, who made a series of tweets, said the budget has set the highest ever capital expenditure target in the history of Independent India by underling funds for capex worth Rs 5.54 lakh crore. This capex push will set the ball rolling for making India a five trillion dollar economy, he said.

BJP Srikakulam Parliamentary Party wing president Attada Ravi Babji said the Union government’s new plans would benefit the Srikakulam district. “Allocation of ₹16.5 lakh crore for the agriculture loans will boost the farm activity in backward areas. The government s allocation of ₹40,000 crore for rural infrastructure will ensure overall development of villages which are being neglected,” said Mr. Babji.

Under the Budget 2021-22 announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday, more than 15,000 schools will include all components of the National Education Policy to be qualitatively strengthened, and enable them to emerge as exemplar schools in their regions, handhold and mentor other schools to achieve the goals of the policy.
The Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs also stated that 100 new Sainik Schools will be setup in partnership with NGOs/private schools/states.
The Finance Minister also proposed to set up a Higher Education Commission of India as an umbrella body having four separate vehicles for standard setting, accreditation, regulation and funding.
