Ian Wright criticises outcome of Irish court case in new anti-racism video

Former Premier League footballer Ian Wright has criticised the outcome of a court case in Ireland in which a teenager who admitted racially abusing him escaped conviction.
As part of their No Room For Racism campaign, the Premier League published a serious of videos to its Twitter account featuring Wright discussing his experience of racism with Alan Shearer.
Wright, a former Arsenal striker, expressed his frustration that the “horrific” abuse he received on social media from a Kerry teenager went unpunished.
He suggested that outcome had discouraged him from reporting further instances of racist abuse.
Clean-up takes place in Earlesfield area of Grantham

The district council says residents are enjoying an improved environment thanks to its clean-up work at a South Kesteven housing estate.
Two weeks of work has taken place on streets, green areas and block-paved courts in the Earlesfield area of Grantham. It was part of South Kesteven District Councilâs continuing programme to improve the local surroundings for residents.

Cabinet member for housing and planning, Councillor Robert Reid, said: âThis work will have a big impact for residents, as the before and after photos show.
âIt also fits in with delivering a key SKDC priority of maintaining a clean and sustainable environment, laying foundations for the future by making the whole area a more desirable place to live.
Grantham area defendants are sentenced by magistrates

Grantham area defendants brought before the courts recently include:
Kane Bobby Ashley Brackenbury, 28, of The Eden Hotel, North Parade, Grantham: admits having in his possession a quantity of class A drug cocaine in Grantham on October 16, 2020; stealing clothing from Boyes on October 12, 2020; and stealing clothing from Matalan on October 6, 2020. He was discharged conditionally for six months and ordered to pay a £22 victim surcharge and £40 towards costs.
Ryan John Inman, 22, of Waggon and Horses, High Street, Caythorpe: admits driving a Vauxhall Corsa on the A607 at Fulbeck on September 13, 2020 with 55 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath â the legal limit is 35mcg. He also admits being the driver of the vehicle when an accident occurred whereby injury was caused to another person, and failing to stop. Inman was fined £666, ordered to pay a £67 victim su
He was ordered to pay £359 in costs, a fine and surcharge.
ELLIE SMITH, 20, of Llandegfedd Way, New Inn, Pontypool, was ordered to pay £344 in costs, a fine and surcharge for without due care and attention. Her driving record was endorsed with six points.
CLAIRE PROSSER, 47, of Springfield, Maesycwmmer, Caerphilly, was conditionally discharged for 12 months after she admitted obstructing a constable. She was ordered to pay £322 in a fine and a surcharge.
