ISLAMABAD: Homage will be paid to Captain Karnal Sher Khan, Nishan-i-Haider, on Monday for the display of exemplary gallantry during Kargil War.
According to a tweet posted by the Inter-Services Public Relations on Sunday, the nation venerates the captain as it observes his 22nd martyrdom anniversary.
The Kargil War hero from Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, wrote history with his blood displaying utmost valour, commitment and unwavering allegiance to defend the country against all odds. “We are proud of him,” the ISPR said.

RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa was honoured with the Bahrain Order (first class) award by the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister of Bahrain Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for making significant contribution to defence cooperation between Bahrain and Pakistan.
The army chief visited Bahrain on an official trip from Jan 6 to 8 and called on Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad, Commander-in-Chief of Bahrain Defence Forces Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa and Commander of Bahrain National Guard Lt Gen Sheikh Mohammed Bin Isa Al Khalifa, said a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations on Friday.

A soldier was martyred and seven were injured during an exchange of fire with terrorists in North Waziristan’s tribal district on Wednesday night.
According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations on Thursday, two militants were killed in the shootout and 10 were injured.
The incident occurred near Mirali Town where a group of terrorists attacked a convoy during which 34-year-old Naik Yaseen embraced martyrdom.
The security forces responded promptly and two terrorists were killed while 10 others were injured, the army’s media wing said.
