How seven family members perished in Kano inferno

Fire gutted the house of Abdurrahman Ibrahim (aka Babawo) at Na’ibawa ‘Yanlemo in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State and seven family members lost their lives in the inferno. It was gathered that the fire occurred on Monday around 9:30pm when the family members had already retired to bed. The deceased children Those killed in the fire incident include Ibrahim’s aged mother – Hajiya Rahinatu Jibrin; his two children, five-year-old Abdurrahman and three-year-old Khaleel. Others are Ibrahim’s sister Aisha Ibrahim and his nieces, Intisar Ya’u, Amina Ya’u and Rahinatu Ya’u. According to an eyewitness, who preferred anonymity, the cause of the fire was related to mosquito coils which the family members used to protect themselves from mosquito bites.

Photo: File RAWALPINDI: The director-general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Babar Iftikhar on Wednesday said the Pakistan army is searching for   TTP leader Ehsanullah Ehsan, who fled from custody last year. Speaking to foreign journalists, the DG ISPR said that Ehsan s escape was a matter of great concern for the Army, adding that action was taken against the officers responsible for the militant s escape.  As reported by Geo.tv,  Gen Maj Babar said that at present, the Army is unaware of Ehsanullah Ehsan s whereabouts and said that the TTP leader s Twitter account, which was recently used to issue threats to Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai, turned out to be fake.

Army establishes free medical camp in Cholistan Medical teams provide free eye checkup and glasses along with free eye laser procedures to individuals The Pakistan Army organised free medical and eye surgical camp from February 3 to 15 in the far-flung area of Cholistan, military’s media wing said on Monday. In a statement released by the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), special teams of doctors, with support of the district, established medical camps in the areas of Ahmed Pur East, Channan Pir and Din Garh in Punjab. The press release added that the medical camps operated special mobile services for the local people, with lab and X-Ray facilities.
