Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has sacked lecturers in Kaduna State-owned Universities that joined strike action..
El-Rufai gave the order in a press statement by his special assistant on media, Muyiwa Adekeye, on Tuesday.
He said, “Any academic staff of KASU that does not report for work will be dismissed. The authorities of KASU are to submit a copy of the attendance register for all categories of staff daily to the Secretary to the State Governemnt and the Commissioner of Education.
The governor also ordered immediate dismissal of nurses under grade level 14 that joined the strike in the state.

Sunday Ighoho during the Yoruba Nation rally in Osogbo on Saturday
Popular Yoruba rights activist, Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho, on Saturday, joined other agitators at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo, the Osun State capital, to demand Yoruba Nation.
Igboho, who spoke at the venue of the mega rally, also demanded the release of operatives of the Oodua Peoples Congress who were detained for arresting notorious Fulani herder, Iskilu Wakili, in the Ibarapa area of Oyo State.
The venue of the rally was heavy with the presence of operatives of the Nigeria Police Force as well as men of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
