A total of 244 nominations were made to nine stakes, five graded, worth $1.25 million in purses that help support the 146
th running of the Preakness Stakes (G1), the Middle Jewel of the Triple Crown, Saturday, May 15 at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Md.
The $1 million Preakness will go off as Race 13 on a spectacular 14-race program that begins at 10:30 a.m. ET and concludes with the UAE President Cup (G1) for Arabian horses. Preakness post time is scheduled for 6:47 p.m. ET.

Channel Cat and Luis Saez win the 2019 Bowling Green
Trainer Jack Sisterson will saddle Calumet Farm homebred Channel Cat in search of a first Grade 1 score in Saturday s $700,000 Man o War, an 11-furlong inner turf test for older horses at Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y.
The 6-year-old English Channel horse made the grade under the care of newly minted Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher in the 2019 Grade 2 Bowling Green at Saratoga Race Course. The victory came as part of a profitable season in which the chestnut finished third in both the Grade 1 United Nations at Monmouth Park and the Grade 1 Sword Dancer at the Spa.

Saturday s Grade 1, $700,000 Man o War Stakes at Belmont Park drew a field of eight top level marathon turf runners with seven having proven competitive at this level in races around North America.
