More walk-in first and second doses available at Redmond mass vaccination clinic REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) The Mass Vaccination Clinic at the Deschutes Fair & Expo Center will continue to offer walk-in COVID-19 vaccine appointments this week. “It was great to see so many people come out last weekend for our first walk-in hours and we’re excited to offer more walk-in times this week,” said Molly Wells-Darling, incident commander. “Walk-in appointments are an easy and convenient way to get your vaccine.”  First dose appointments First-dose walk-in appointments are available on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon and on Friday from 1 to 4 p.m.

(KTVZ) Deschutes County Health Services is partnering with Oregon Health Authority to offer free drive-thru COVID-19 testing events on Thursdays in May. Testing will be available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 6, 13, 20 and 27 in Downtown Bend at the Wall Street Services Building.   This testing event is open to anyone. No symptoms or ID are required to be tested. Participants are asked to wear a mask and register online at www.doineedacovid19test.com. Staff will be onsite to register those who are unable to pre-register.

Portland schools see fewer pandemic problems than in Bend May 02 2021 A surge of COVID-19 cases forces quarantine of 700 students in the Central Oregon district Oregon Health Authority reported COVID-19 cases at a handful of Portland schools this week, including an elementary school with five infections. The latest weekly reported released by the state shows Harrison Elementary School in Southeast Portland had five reported cases among students over the past four weeks, with the most recent case reported April 22. It s unclear whether the infections happened at school or off campus. Aside from Harrison Elementary, Portland Public Schools also had individual cases at Grant High School on April 22 and just this week, two more cases were reported at Ida B. Wells-Barnett High School in Southwest Portland. Those cases have yet to be included in the OHA weekly report.

Walk-Up COVID Vaccine Appointments Saturday Walk-up COVID vaccine appointments are being offered Saturday, May 1 between noon and 2 p.m. at the Mass Vaccination Clinic at the Deschutes Fair & Expo Center. First-dose appointments will only be offered at the Mass Vaccination Clinic through the end of next week. Operations will continue through the end of May to complete second-dose appointments. Residents can choose a convenient time and schedule a vaccine appointment directly by visiting www.centraloregoncovidvaccine. com. Pre-registration for vaccine appointments is no longer required. “This week, we’re on pace to administer our 100,000th dose at the Mass Vaccination Clinic,” said Molly Wells-Darling, Deputy Incident Commander. “With cases surging, getting your vaccine is an easy way to protect yourself, your loved ones and our community. If you haven’t been vaccinated yet, please schedule an appointment today.”
