“Those will happen through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Yes, if the information is true, there is certain things we will do in Belize in order to prevent any retaliation or any cross-border incidents, because we are hearing rumors. But from the police standpoint, we have not been able to confirm if the information is true. But once we get confirmation, if a matter of fact, we are not waiting. We have already put things in place. But it is not a matter for us. It is a matter for the Mexican police.”

“Like I said we have put certain things in place in the event this information is true. And, if it is that is the case. I am not going to go into specific because we have heard certain things. But not everything we do is for the media consumption. There are certain things we must withhold. As it relates to what you are saying, if it is that it has to do with some drug issue or transnational crime then the Mexican authority, where there is some earnest, are going to seek from us information to be able to clear the blur that they are experiencing. But what led to the recent charges levelled against Jasmine Hartin in San Pedro? Today, she appeared before the magistrate for charges of common assault and possession of a controlled drug. Despite objections made by the prosecutor, the magistrate offered bail of one thousand dollars, which up to news time was not met as yet. Commissioner Chester Williams explains those charges brought against the Canadian national and says that he would ask the office of the D.P.P. to apply for Hartin’s bail to be revoked.
