The incident took place at 9.55pm on Monday, April 5 on Westminster Road. An unknown man approached the 85-year-old and grabbed hold of the bag he was carrying before leaving the scene. The elderly man fell to the floor and received minor injuries to his hand, which required hospital treatment. The suspect is described as being around 5ft 8in in height. Police have been conducting a number of lines of enquiry and are appealing for CCTV footage of the area and any witnesses who may have information to come forward. Detective Sergeant Simon Owen, from Chester Local Policing Unit, said: “While we have been following a number of enquiries I am appealing to anyone who has information and not yet spoken to police to contact us.
DETECTIVES investigating the importation of illegal drugs on an industrial scale have arrested 10 people, including three from Flintshire, following dawn raids at properties in Chester, Frodsham, Tarporley, Saltney and Whitchurch. Eight men, aged 25 to 43, and two women, aged 25 and 61, were all arrested this morning (February 18) after warrants were executed at 10 addresses. They have all been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply and importation of Class B drugs (cannabis) and money laundering. All ten are currently in custody being questioned by officers. The following have been arrested:
A 25-year-old man from Saltney
A 25-year-old woman from Whitchurch
A 61-year-old woman from Chester
Ten people have been arrested in connection with large scale importation of Class B drugs, including one at an address in Tarporley. Detectives investigating the importation of illegal drugs made the arrests following a series of dawn raids across Cheshire, North Wales and Shropshire. The eight men, aged 25 to 43, and two women, aged 25 and 61, were all arrested on Thursday (February 19) after warrants were executed at 10 addresses in Chester, Whitchurch, Saltney, Frodsham and Tarporley . SEVERAL people were arrested during a week of action to tackle county lines drug dealing in Cheshire. Operation Expel saw officers across the county step up their already considerable efforts to bring county lines drug dealers to justice and protect vulnerable people from being exploited. Running from Monday, February 8, to Friday, February 12, the bulk of the proactive activities took place in Halton. Detective Inspector Eleanor Atkinson, who oversaw the operation at Cheshire Police, said: “County lines drug dealing involves organised crime groups based in major cities or urban areas extending their criminal enterprises into more rural locations.
