A MAN from Tarporley is one of ten people charged with a plot to import cannabis into the country from America. Daniel Hewitt, 37, of Elm Close, was arrested after an early morning raid at his home on Thursday, February 18. He has been charged along with seven other men and two women from addresses across Cheshire, Shropshire and North Wales. They have all been charged with conspiracy to supply Class B drugs, evading a prohibition on the importation of a Class B drug and money laundering offences. All 10 have been conditionally bailed to appear at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Friday, March 19.

DETECTIVES investigating the importation of illegal drugs on an industrial scale have arrested 10 people, including three from Flintshire, following dawn raids at properties in Chester, Frodsham, Tarporley, Saltney and Whitchurch. Eight men, aged 25 to 43, and two women, aged 25 and 61, were all arrested this morning (February 18) after warrants were executed at 10 addresses. They have all been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply and importation of Class B drugs (cannabis) and money laundering. All ten are currently in custody being questioned by officers. The following have been arrested:
A 25-year-old man from Saltney
A 25-year-old woman from Whitchurch
A 61-year-old woman from Chester
