MORE than 600 people a day are being vaccinated against Covid-19 at a Chester Masonic centre. The Cheshire View Masonic Centre in Christleton is being used as a major vaccination hub in the fight against Covid-19, with hundreds of people a day who are patients of six key rural GP practices in the area seen by doctors and nursing staff. In use as a vaccination hub since late December, the building – owned by Cheshire Freemasons – is better known as one of their meeting places and a popular wedding venue and conferencing centre, but now the entire ground floor has been adapted and given over to the Clinical Commissioning Group and NHS stakeholders.
COUNTY Councillor Paul Rogers has thanked a contractor working in the community for sponsoring a competition for the Most Festive House. The competition which was held in the run up to Christmas was arranged by Councillor Rogers to spread some extra festive cheer. The event was sponsored by Wrexham Council Housing Contractor Novus Solutions who recently carried out re-roofing works to council homes on Bryn Gwenfro in Tanyfron. The competition which was shared on social media received a positive response with festive hampers awarded to winning properties in Brymbo and Tanyfron. Commenting on the event Councillor Paul Rogers said: The last 12 months have been particularly tough for many in our community and I wanted to encourage residents to get involved and give some recognition for their community spirit.

A POPULAR Chester wedding venue looks set to be used as a Covid-19 vaccination hub. Cheshire View in Christleton has offered to provide six rural GP practices with the entire ground floor of the Freemasons Hall as a base to deliver the life-saving jab. Although the Freemasons have revealed the plans via their Facebook page,
The Standard understands that they have not yet been formally approved. It posted: Having a vaccine ready is one thing, but if you’re a small rural GP the logistics of administering it safely to large numbers of patients is almost impossible. So the team at Cheshire View have been working in conjunction with the Clinical Commissioning Group and other NHS stakeholders to provide the entire ground floor of the Freemasons Hall at Christleton as a major vaccination hub in order to protect patients.
