Although it s not as iconic as its Ford F-Series counterpart, the second-generation Chevrolet C10 is one of the cool square trucks of the 1960s. It s an expensive collectible in the right configuration but also a solid platform for a high-revving restomod. 13 photos
This 1969 C10 is a good example of how you can turn a mundane truck into a sleeper. It may look rusty on the outside, but it went through a thorough restoration process. The owner opted for a patina finish, hence the barn find look, especially above the waistline.
Take a closer look, and you ll notice the perfect chrome on the front grille and bumper, as well as the modern multi-spoke rims wrapped in low-profile tires. But it s what s under that makes this old truck special. Its 50-year-old engine has been replaced by a modern 5.3-liter LS V8, paired to a 4L60E automatic transmission.

When it was brand-spanking new for the 1980 model year, this C10 was nothing more than a blue-collar pickup. Following a frame-off restoration, the half-ton workhorse has received go-faster goodies such as a 489 stroker V8 motor with 593 dyno-proven horsepower and a lot of torque. 36 photos
Offered by RK Motors Charlotte with just under 60 miles (97 kilometers) on the clock, the truck develops 558 pound-feet (757 Nm) thanks to performance-oriented components that include the K&N air cleaner, Holley 300-5 Strip Dominator intake system, Holley Quick Fuel carburetor, and World Products Merlin cylinder heads. Under the hood, you’ll also find a forged crankshaft, a SCAT Enterprises rotating assembly, forged H-beam rods, forged pistons, and a hydraulic roller camshaft from Isky.

In our day and time, paying close to or over $100,000 for a car is not something out of the ordinary. There are many options from various brands going for around that much, from electric Teslas to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Look as hard as you’d like, though, and you’ll not find a single new Chevrolet even come close to that, unless you re willing to go for a fully-optioned Corvette Stingray Convertible. 10 photos
The old bowties, on the other hand, often jump over the threshold. We’re talking about collectible and at times customized ones that not only are available on the pre-owned market for a sum people elsewhere pay for a three-bedroom apartment, but they have no problem selling either.

We’re used to our Chevrolet C10s being served for dinner on fancy plates, seasoned with all kinds of exotic spices, and wrapped in packaging purposefully designed to steal all the attention. Yet, from time to time, a return to basics is just what the nutritionist prescribed. 15 photos
The C10 is part of the famous Chevrolet line of pickups known as the C/K. Released in 1959, the family managed to soldier on well until the early 2000s, burning through four generations in the process and more variants than we care count.
Generations one and two remain, for a variety of reasons, the preferred dish of the custom industry. Most of the garages going for one of these choose rather extreme paths to create something else entirely out of these trucks.
Here’s yet another gorgeous Chevy C10 restomod for your viewing pleasure. It is a second-generation, single-cab 1972 short bed C/K truck that’s been prepped for tearing your stock Mustang a new one if you ever get to see it in a quarter-mile race.
