These days, the future of the muscle car genre is in danger, with the segment s survival being linked to electrification (the recent dissolution of FCA s SRT division under the new Stellantis umbrella certainly didn t lift the spirits). Sure, the GT350 was built for the circuit, with the independent rear suspension of the sixth-gen Mustang allowing the engineers to take the label to a new level; many owners still prefer a quick, straight-line battle, though. Case in point with the velocity confrontation we have here, which saw the muscle cars going for a rolling start adventure.

The E36 generation of the BMW 3 Series isn t the first competitor that comes to mind when thinking of a race that involves the fifth-gen Chevrolet Camaro SS, simply because no engine fitted to the 90s Bimmer would make it competitive in a battle against the newer muscle car, at least in a straight line.
