COVID show notes for Friday, May 14, 2021 –
Incident commander Karl Hagerman – COVID situation in Petersburg right now, still at low risk, four active cases, all travel related, people who have left Petersburg, returned here and since tested positive. They were symptomatic and were tested at the airport and at Petersburg Medical Center’s respiratory clinic. They have been directed to isolate and he believes the risk to festival-goers is low.
Petersburg still has a face covering mandate in place. He mentioned the Centers for Disease Control’s latest guidance on fully vaccinated people and masking.

A year into the pandemic, we take a look at how these Delaware nurses repurposed their skills and rose to new challenges every step of the way.
When the coronavirus struck with a vengeance in March 2020, it threatened to overwhelm our healthcare system, so Delaware’s nurses sprang into action. We spoke to eight nurses who transitioned away from their regular jobs to fight on the front lines of the pandemic. Read on to find out how it happened and what the experiences meant to them.

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - Around the Shenandoah Valley, mass COVID-19 vaccine clinics continue this week, including some smaller clinics at schools.
The Central Shenandoah Health District (CSHD) is teaming up with school nursing staff in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County this week to give out vaccines to students with consent from parents or guardians.
Marsha Rodeffer, the Nurse Manager with the CSHD, said school nursing staff has been “invaluable” in the effort to vaccine school staff and students.

Lisa is a team player who understands the value of collaboration and that the very best patient care requires an interdisciplinary approach.
