HIGH POINT, N.C. February 9, 2021 Culp Inc. partnered with REAL Kitchen & Market, a local High Point caterer, to deliver boxed lunches and gifts to three area hospitals.
“It’s been difficult to watch the effects this pandemic has had on the morale of the staff in the MICU,” said Scott West, Nurse Manager at Wake Forest Baptist Health. “We have known this pandemic was going to be a marathon, not a sprint, but I don’t think any of us thought we would still be fighting the battle for nine months and counting. Support like this from the community means so much to the staff.”

Tammi Brown rolled up her sleeve at an outdoor ceremony at the Chatham County Health Department on Dec. 15 and as Gov. Brian Kemp and Georgia Commissioner of Health Dr. Kathleen Toomey looked on, she became one of the first people in Georgia to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
As the Chatham County Nurse Manager, Brown likes to lead by example. And like the other five panelists who will be joining her 6 p.m. Thursday for a public discussion about the facts and myths of the COVID-19 vaccine, she wants to know why some people don t want the vaccine.
One recurrent theme stands out as she talks to the vaccine reluctant, even other healthcare workers.

Mary Louise Cope, 89, of Wheeling, WV passed away very peacefully at Continuous Care Center (Wheeling Hospital) on February 3 rd surrounded by love and her six children.
Mary Lou was born on March 28 th, 1931, the oldest daughter of Frank J. and Catharine Taylor Slatterick. Mary Lou was a 1949 Graduate of St. John Central High School and a 1952 graduate of the Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing. Mary Lou was a retired nurse with 40 years of service to Wheeling Hospital. She started her career and worked for 20 years on the OB/GYN Floor including Labor/Delivery Room and the Nursery. She worked for 20 years as a Nurse Manager at Wheeling Hospital Continuous Care Center, where she loved working with the elderly before retiring in 1995.
