Chloe Andrus was crowned the 42nd Miss Pine River with a court consisting of Tiara Crannell as First Princess and Miss Congeniality and Mara Adams selected as Second Princess.
In a tearful display, Rausie Cummings, who died Sept. 10, 2020, in an automobile collision was named honorary princess for the year. I feel very surprised and grateful for my whole group for Miss Pine River. I m grateful and I m thankful that everybody came today. Chloe Andrus.
Andrus gave a brief but grateful statement at the end of the event.

Miss Pine River Pageant
Six Pine River-Backus High School juniors will vie for the title of Miss Pine River at the 42nd annual scholarship pageant at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 5, in the high school gym. Admission is $5.
Candidates are Chloe Beavers, Mara Adams, Chloe Andrus, Tiara Crannell, Emma Pflugshaupt and Abby Schaefer. They will be judged on interview, business casual wear, talent and evening gown.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Traditionally, the Echo Journal doesn’t pick a top story of the year, but rather publishes a list of highlights from each month.
However, it’s next to impossible not to say that the COVID-19 pandemic and its many effects on all of our lives was the top story of 2020 - and not just locally, but across the world.
