WILKES-BARRE, Pa. Ever since age 11, when her height became apparent, Anita Pingue, who now stands at 6 feet tall, says it s been a challenge. From being younger having to go to the back of the line always, even taking pictures, having to go to the back, finding shoes that fit, she explained. Being tall has pretty much affected me like my whole life, and I m 35 years old.
So she s spent the last three years building a clothing brand called WEXIST INC, pronounced We exist, for tall women like her who can t find pants that are long enough or sweatshirts with sleeves that reach the wrist.

PITTSTON, Pa. Everywhere you look in the Tomato Capital of World, you can see some form of art. The city of Pittston learned this week it will be able to close the loop on its commitment to this type of creative expression with a little help from Lowe s home improvement stores. It was a nationally open application process, but Lowe s had indicated they d be selecting 100 hometowns across the country to award a substantial grant amount. They were distributing $10 million over those 100 hometowns, said Pittston Mayor Micahel Lombardo.

PLAINS, Pa. In the hot summer sun, DPW workers with Plains Township began to break down a willow tree after it came down in a storm on Tuesday afternoon. It s got to be well over 100 years old because I m 70, and when I was 8 or 10 years old, that was big.
For some who watched as crews took it apart piece by piece and put it into the chipper, it brought back memories from their childhood.
