The Tánaiste has welcomed a new plan for investment in Waterford launched in the city today.
‘Waterford – Find Your Future’ is a collaboration between Waterford City & County Council, Waterford Chamber of Commerce and Waterford Institute of Technology, aimed at encouraging companies to invest in the city.
The group also proposes Waterford become a decarbonising zone, by having electrical supply exclusively from renewable energy sources, all transport to be powered by electricity or hydrogen, and all industrial practices to be carbon neutral by 2040. The plan says that this will radically decarbonise the city, cutting carbon emissions by 7% per annum.
