Fundraiser established for family of Leavenworth man killed in paragliding accident

NCWLIFE Sam Broaddus LEAVENWORTH Friends are raising money for the family of the Leavenworth paraglider killed in a Sunday morning accident near Eagle Creek Road. Sam Broaddus, 42, died in the crash about 5 miles northeast of Leavenworth. Witnesses told the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office that Broaddus was performing a barrel roll at about 1,000 feet when his glider lost lift and fell to earth. He was declared dead at the scene. The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office says the accident was reported about 10:16 a.m. Sunday by another paraglider. Fellow gliders performed CPR on Broaddus until EMTsfrom Cascade Medical Center arrived. His body was airlifted from the area by a Chelan County sheriff’s helicopter.
