RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - If you have a high schooler, teaching them about budgeting in percentages will be a life lesson they will carry forever.
Cherry Dale, a Financial Coach with the Virginia Credit Union, says to keep it simple. Help them create three categories. Since teens don’t have a lot of living expenses it’s the perfect time to show them how much they can save up.
Maybe it’s 30% to savings, 20% to giving and 50% on whatever they want.

Fees to watch our for when refinancing
Fees to watch out for if you are looking to refinance By Rachel DePompa | March 17, 2021 at 6:01 AM EDT - Updated March 17 at 9:16 AM
RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - If you are looking to refinance a car, a house, or even credit card debt there are three fees to watch out for.
Cherry Dale with the Virginia Credit Union helped us put this list together. She says, number one, ask about origination fees.
Thatâs a fee that a lender will put in the deal just to originate the loan. It could be a percentage of what you are borrowing. Some lenders charge this. Some donât so itâs something to ask.
