Pride clubs would end as founders graduated at SF
As she began volunteering with the organization, she realized there was a lot of pressure to provide a safe space and resources for all the LGBTQ students on campus.
But frequent student turnover meant pride clubs would not last after their founders graduated, and even during their high point, finding a haven to regularly gather was difficult for a campus population filled with many commuter students.
“I was like, I have to do something about this,” Eder said. “The purpose, the goal here, is so much bigger than my nervousness … and I just, like, let my fear drop.”
