The cause of the road accident in Taizhou, East China s Zhejiang Province, on May 17 has been identified by the Taizhou Public Security Bureau on Sunday. The authorities said the driver has to take full responsibility as it was found that the Tesla vehicle did not have anything to do with the accident.

US new-energy vehicle (NEV) maker Tesla is developing a platform that would provide access for its users to view driving data, which would make Tesla the first company to share such data with users, according to a report by Beijing Daily. The platform is expected to be put into operation within the year, the report said.
The move comes shortly after a Chinese Tesla user protested about a brake problem by climbing on top of a Tesla car at this year s Shanghai Auto show on April 19. The incident caused controversy and some public anger toward Tesla.

According to reports, the second Made-in-China Tesla to come from the brand s Gigafactory in Beijing, the Model Y, has sold over a lakh units within ten hours of its price announcement. While production only began at the start of December, deliveries for the Model Y are expected to begin shortly, at a price that undercuts its nearest EV rivals from local brands NIO and others.
The China-built Model Y starts at 339,000 yuan (or Rs 38 lakh without duties and taxes) for the Long Range model offering a 62kWh battery and 580km (WLTP) driving range, without the benefits of the subsidies offered by the Chinese government to cars under 300,000 yuan.
