Ex-boyfriend arrested in connection with death investigation in Northumberland County

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. Stephen Kruskie, 26, of Mount Carmel is now charged with criminal homicide for the death of Cheyenne Swartz, 21, of Coal Township.
According to police, Swartz and Kruskie were in his jeep on May 21 and started arguing.
Officials say she tried to get out while it was moving, hung on to the passenger side door, and was dragged before eventually going under the jeep.

SHAMOKIN, Pa. Friends of 21-year-old Cheyenne Swartz gathered along Arch Street in Coal Township to remember the young woman who passed away on Tuesday.
Cheyenne s sister says Swartz was out with friends last Friday night.
Swartz texted their mother around 11 p.m., saying she would be stopping by to get clothes for a sleepover at a friend s.
She never arrived.

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. A young woman found badly injured in the middle of the street in Northumberland County has now died.
Family confirms Cheyenne Swartz passed away Tuesday afternoon.
The 21-year-old was found seriously hurt Friday along Arch Street in Coal Township, near Shamokin.
Swartz had to be flown to the hospital.
The victim s sister said Swartz had texted Friday night, that she was on her way home after being with friends.
About an hour later, she was found two blocks away from her home in Northumberland County.

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. Police in Northumberland County are looking for whoever left a young woman in the middle of the street.
The Coal Township police chief says Cheyenne Swartz, 21, was found just before midnight Friday night.
She s now hospitalized in critical condition.
Newswatch 16 spoke with the woman s sister and the person who found her.
Bethany Murry and her friend were returning to their home in the 1400 block of Arch Street in Coal Township when they came upon a woman lying in the street just before midnight Friday.
