With the objective of gearing up for the rollout of COVID-19 vaccine across the country, the Central Government has asked all States and UTs to ensure effective preparedness for the vaccine rollout.
Rajesh Bhushan, Union Health Secretary, chaired a high-level meeting to review the preparedness at session sites for COVID-19 vaccination with Pr Secretaries (Health), NHM MDs and other health administrators of all States/UTs through video conference on 31 December.

Govt Successfully Conducts Dry Run For COVID-19 Vaccination In Andhra, Punjab, Assam And Gujarat

Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare conducted a two-day dry run for activities entailed in Covid-19 vaccination in four states of Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab and Gujarat on 28 and 29 December, an official release said.
Backed with the experience of rolling out Universal Immunization Programme (UIP) and conducting nationwide multiple wide-range injectable vaccination campaigns such as measles-rubella (MR) and adult Japanese Encephalitis (JE) campaign, required steps are being undertaken to vaccinate priority population groups such as Health care workers, Frontline workers and people above 50 years for Covid-19, it said.

Field feedback on the first day of the run was reviewed today through video conferencing with state and district programme officers by Joint Secretary (Public Health)
Detailed insights and feedback so obtained will help enrich the operational guidelines and IT platform and will strengthen the Covid-19 vaccination roll-out plan
