‘Blessing Boxes’ meant to supply food to needy stolen from Syracuse charity

Syracuse, N.Y. Local business owner Tai Shaw was storing 10 wooden donation boxes behind his store until they could be painted pink and delivered to locations around the city.
Sometime between last Thursday and Saturday, five of those “Blessing Boxes” were stolen, said Shaw, owner of CNY Uniforms Plus and founder of the “CNY Blessing Box” program.

Syracuse, N.Y. The annual Syracuse Crawfish Festival, a sure sign of spring in Central New York for most of the last 14 years, returns in a modified form Saturday at the Inner Harbor.
Due to Covid-19 protocols, this year’s festival will be a “grab and go” event and will be combined with a food truck rodeo. As always. it’s a fundraiser for the non-profit charity Operation Northern Comfort.

Taste of Syracuse: Picnics at the Park
This is a 13-week event featuring over 80 vendors at Onondaga Lake Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Thursday of June, July and August. Several vendors will be featured each week along with live performances. This event is taking the place of the usual Taste of Syracuse event, which usually takes place in downtown Syracuse and draws massive crowds.
