Last Tuesday, police carried out a warrant and forced entry into an address on Brown Street. The warrant followed intelligence that people there were involved in the sale and supply of drugs. Drugs were recovered and a 38-year-old man was reported to the Procurator Fiscal. The warrant was carried out under Operation Juneau, which works to reduce the harm caused by substance misuse in East Lothian. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “These actions are only possible with the continued support of the local community. “If you suspect someone is involved in drugs supply, please contact us on 101, online or report this to a police officer.”

A man has been arrested after a quantity of heroin was recovered from a house in Prestonpans.
Chief Inspector Neil Mitchell, Local Area Commander for East Lothian, said, “Drugs and violence can destroy lives and communities. ‘County Lines is a term used to describe gangs and organised criminal networks involved in exporting illegal drugs (mainly Heroin, Cocaine and Crack Cocaine) into one or more rural/coastal areas, using dedicated mobile phone lines or deal lines . They exploit children and vulnerable adults to move and store the drugs and money, often using coercion, intimidation, violence (including sexual violence) and weapons.
