OIC condemns Israel’s demolition operations in East Jerusalem
JEDDAH, Wednesday, June 30, 2021 (WAFA) - The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the demolition operations of houses and facilities carried out by the Israeli occupation forces in the Bustan neighborhood of Silwan in the occupied city of Jerusalem.
The organization considered in a statement what is happening in Silwan an extension of the policy of forced displacement of the original inhabitants in favor of Judaization projects and colonial settlement schemes with the aim of altering the demographic, geographic, and legal reality of the Holy City.
The OIC stressed that such measures constitute a violation of international law, calling on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities to provide international protection for the Palestinian people, put an end to the occupation, achieve a just and durable peace in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions and the

ISLAMABAD – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is mobilizing its agencies and departments to address the growing phenomenon of dangerous extremist groups who hijacked Islam and are committing crimes in the name of religion, says an OIC email Friday here.
The peak of this phenomenon is reached these days in the current crisis of the female students abducted by Boko Haram in Nigeria. The OIC began to act in coordination with its subsidiary organ the International Islamic Fiqh Academy and its Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Tariq Ali Bakhit, Director in the Political Department of the OIC, stressed in a press statement that the issue of the growing phenomenon of dangerous extremist groups will be high on the agenda of the Council of Foreign Ministers of Member States meeting next month in Jeddah.
